Outdoor Journal Radio – August 26 2017

Angelo is off to “Merry Old England” and Peter Bowman will be on the mic, joined
by Keith Beasley from Canada’s most popular TV hunting adventure program,
Canada in the Rough .

Speaking of hunting, tis the season. Dawn Whiteside, the Brand Manager from
Coleman Canada, will join the boys with some discounts and specials for the fall
hunters, fishermen, and campers.

What is that fuzz that clogs your reel and fishing line on many of the lakes in
Ontario? Dr. Shelley Arnott, an aquatic ecologist from Queen’s University, has
been tracking the invasion of spiny water fleas and their impact on the ecology of
our lakes. Does anything eat these critters and how far are they likely to spread?
Pete will be in his glory, in the Go Fish in Ontario segment, which features The

Poplars Resort on Newboro Lake. There are big bass on the swim in the Rideau
lakes system, and this resort boasts some of the best bass fishing in the region.

Do you remember Body Break with Hal Johnson and Joanne McLeod? The “next
one” is daughter Sierra McLeod. Sierra’s advancing in the ranks of Canadian
speed skaters. How far can she take this? Can she make Team Canada for a
future Olympics? Sierra will join the program from the training facility in Calgary.
