Outdoor Journal Radio – June 16 2018

There’s a right way and a wrong way to release fish, so that they can swim another day. Bruce Tufts from Queen’s University joins Angelo with his conclusions about the correct way to handle fish, and the risks of mortality based on the time that fish are out of the water.

Today is a proud day for the 8 children’s camps in Algonquin Park. The camps will receive the prestigious Director’s Award from the Friends of Algonquin Park. Lind
Leckie joins Angelo with the details. Linda is an expert wilderness leader educator and environmentalist with experience working with the camps and has
lead dozens of trips into the backcountry.

Mike Brown from Leisure Marine in Woodbridge joins Angelo from the showroom floor, with this week’s Father’s Day specials.

On the Go Fish in Ontario segment, Wayne Dolman joins us from Fox Lake Lodge and Spanish River Canoe Trips. There are many options including rustic rental cabins, canoe and kayak trips with outfitting services, and some great fishing for lake trout, brook trout and smallmouth bass.
