Outdoor Journal Radio – May 12 2018

Kevin Callan the “Happy Camper” is back. How long before Kevin takes off on his first wilderness canoe trip of the season? Angelo wants to know more about the ideal group size for a spring trip, and what’s on the menu for gourmet treats. The Victoria Day weekend is the kick off to the camping season in Ontario’s Provincial Parks. Sheila Wiebe joins Angelo with an update on campsite vacancies, and some best bets for last minute campers interested in a close to home camping holiday in the Greater Toronto Region.

In the ‘Let’s Go Fishing’ segment, Angelo will catch up with Suzanne Favot from Guardian Eagle Resort in Northwestern Ontario. This is a five star, fly in wilderness fishing trip, that’s world class. Angelo and big brother Reno fished and filmed an episode of Fish’n Canada at De Lesseps Lake a few years ago. Angelo and Suzanne have a great fishing story to tell.

Dick MacKenzie is an ambassador for Northwestern Ontario and the Sioux Lookout area. In Dick’s view, if you fish and vacation in this area, you will be hooked. As a former lodge owner and the operator of a boat tour business, Dick will share his 45 years of experience in a spectacular region of the Province.
