Outdoor Journal Radio – October 28 2017

Wil Wegman reports live from the Jack Link’s Lake Simcoe Open Bass Tournament. Angelo will be talking about the size of the fish that normally hit the
scales at the end of the day, and how things have changed for the bass fishery on Lake Simcoe.

Steven Price is the President of Bird Studies Canada, which monitors bird populations and the fall migration from their location at Point Pelee National Park.\ Angelo wants to know more about the serious decline in bird numbers for a number of species that were common, just 25 years ago.

In the ‘Go Fish in Ontario’ segment, Angelo is joined by Pat Peterson from Bruce Bay Cottages and Lighthouse, on the islands in the north channel of Lake Huron.
Peter Bowman recently fished this location for a Fish’n Canada TV program. The bass fishing was outstanding.

The Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry has filed charges against several commercial fishermen from the Nipissing First Nation, for contravention of
the terms of the harvest agreement. Chief Scott McLeod from the Nipissing First Nation joins Angelo to discuss his views on managing a sustainable fishery.
