Outdoor Journal Radio Show – August 27 2016

A strong body creates a strong mind! Andrea Di Rocco from 121 Fitness in Belleville will give Angelo a fitness tune up, and some healthy tips for exercise in the outdoors. Will Angelo take the bait and make the commitment?

One of the world’s great trout streams, the Yellowstone River, was closed to all recreation for a distance of almost 200 miles. A parasite is killing trout and whitefish, and the Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks are trying to control the spread of the parasite. Dan Gigone from Sweetwater Fly Fishing will join Angelo with an update, and will talk about the devastating impact on the fishery and for tourist operators.
Travis Lowe is a film reporter from Global News in British Columbia. Travis just completed a film on his search for a world record brook trout. Travis is a fly fisherman and he’s spanned the globe to see if there is a world record brookie out there…bigger than Dr. Cook’s record at 14.5 lbs! Finding Fontinalis will be released this fall, and Angelo wants to know if he found a world record.
Agnew Lake Lodge is the location for the Go Fish in Ontario segment. Jan Meijer will join Angelo to talk about fall fishing for walleye, smallmouth bass and northern pike. How far do you have to go? Not far! The lodge is located north of Espanola, about 4 ½ hours from Toronto!
