Outdoor Journal Radio Show – February 06 2016

Who let the dogs out?

Yukon Quest is a 1000 mile dog sled race from Fairbanks Alaska to Whitehorse in the Yukon. Natalie Haltrich is at the starting line and will tell Angelo about the toughest race in the world, and whether a musher and team from Ontario, can pull off a victory!

How’s your heart? Are you one of the 1.3 million high risk Canadians?

February is heart and stroke month, and world renowned heart specialist Dr. Andrew Pipe will join Angelo from the University of Ottawa Heart Institute.

We want to know about butter, eggs, red meat, salt and sugar…Is there anything good left to eat?

Boat sales were down in Canada in 2015, but the value of the boat sales was up! How does that work? The National Marine Manufacturers Association will explain this, and the importance of the boating industry for Canada.

And we’re going fishing at an inexpensive rustic wilderness resort, one hour west of Sudbury. Black Bear camp has some excellent walleye, northern pike, lake trout and smallmouth bass fishing. How good is it? Tom Ellin will fill in the details.

Join Angelo Viola and his guests on the Outdoor Journal Radio Show, airing live on Rogers Sportsnet 590 the FAN or online at Odjradio.com, every Saturday morning from 8-10 am.
