Outdoor Journal Radio Show – July 09 2016

Licence Free Family Fishing Week in Ontario continues until the end of the weekend. This is the time to grab a fishing rod and take the kids out for some local fishing with the worm and bobber. Speaking of fishing, Craig MacPherson from Caygeon Cove Resort on Pigeon Lake on the Kawartha Lakes will join Angelo to talk bass, walleye and muskies. This resort offers access to five different lakes, and is very popular with tournament fishermen.
Alex Morton is back! Alex is a passionate advocate for wild salmon in British Columbia and has been advocating for the removal of commercial Atlantic salmon pens from the ocean. Alex won a court case in over the transport of diseased fish into the salmon pens. The industry and the federal government filed an appeal. Angelo will find out if the government will back off in light of another new disease discovered by federal scientists in a B.C. fish farm.

Merc Marine makes a great electric trolling motor. Tom Wurster will talk about the X5 motor and why serious fishermen should have this motor for those hard to get to places. Angelo will be joined by Sheila Wiebe from Ontario Parks. The Healthy Parks Healthy People campaign is underway. Ontario Parks also sponsor the Learn to Camp and Learn to Fish programs!
