Outdoor Journal Radio Show – October 29 2016
Today is the Trick or Treat Broadcast…It’s Halloween! Sean Kelly, from Black Angus Fine Meats and Game, joins Angelo in the studio as the co-host. Which one will be the clown?
Mike Cochrane makes fishing music with Mikey and the Reelers. Did he release a new album and is he now operating a smoke house? When you sing in the fishing boat does that attract fish? We need to know. Karen Stephenson is the owner of EdibleWildFood. Karen teaches courses and gives presentations about the health benefits of eating wild foods, as well as the right way to harvest the goodies. There’s a safe way to do it and Karen will explain to Angelo the challenges and rewards for those who think safety first.
Garmin make some incredible watches for those who are active in the outdoors. Maddie Estrada knows the right watch for runners, bikers, swimmers and golfers. This is a great option for a Christmas gift for that special person who’s active in the outdoors. Medical marijuana is big news in Canada. This week Shopper’s Drug Mart announced that they want to be a distributor. A San Francisco firm plans to distribute medical marijuana for your dog.
Dr. Marie Holowaychuk , the pet vet, will explain that dogs are sensitive and vulnerable to drugs and this is a bad idea!
Gary Wallace is the owner of Timberwolf Lodge on Nagagami Lake in North Central Ontario. This fly in remote wilderness camp offers spectacular walleye and northern pike fishing. Angelo and Pete made the trip to film an episode of Fish’n Canada, and there’s a fish story to tell.
